World Day of Migrants and Refugees 27th September 2026

BRASS calls for dignity, protection and opportunity for migrants and refugees
BRASS is marking the World Day of Migrants and Refugees 2026 by reaffirming its commitment to supporting migrants, refugees and displaced people and to promoting a world in which every person, regardless of where they come from or why they have been forced to move, can live with safety, dignity and hope.
The World Day of Migrants and Refugees provides an opportunity to recognise the experiences and contributions of people who have left their homes in search of safety, security, opportunity or a better future for themselves and their families. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the challenges faced by migrants and refugees and the responsibilities of governments, communities and civil society towards those who are vulnerable.
Morris Johns, Chair of the Trustees of BRASS, said:
“The World Day of Migrants and Refugees gives us an opportunity to remember that behind every statistic is a human being with a story, a family and hopes for the future. People move for many different reasons, but everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion and respect. At BRASS, we believe that migrants and refugees should have the opportunity to rebuild their lives, contribute to their communities and look forward to a future with security and hope. We should never lose sight of our shared humanity.”
